What is Hypnotherapy ? Why use Hypnosis? Hypnosis is an altered “dream-like” goal state, which allows you to relax & allows your own sub-conscious mind to take on positive suggestions. A person experiences a pleasant relaxing state of being and is not asleep. There is still a little conscious awareness. Is Hypnosis safe? Absolutely safe! It is the client who is in control of the session & it is up to the full individual whether to be in hypnosis or not. There are no side-effects to the therapy & no drugs are ever used. It has also been recommended by the British Medical Council. Myths about Hypnosis People always think of hypnosis as the “look into my eyes” type of therapy or looking achieved in at a pendulum or revolving disc. This is what I call the “Hollywood Effect”. Therapy is not conducted in any of these ways. Hypnosis is not “sleep” in the way we normally sleep at night. It’s just a very relaxing experience.
